Just in case this turns out more difficult later on, we as a family took a vote and decided it would be prudent to take our vacation NOW. So, it's off to Alaska for us....in our 27' Class A RV built by Coach House. More description on this vehicle a little later.
We will need the next 2 weeks for preparation beginning today. Our journey will take us from Cape Coral, Florida about 5000 miles to the Alaskan border. Immediate family members in attendance including Lisette, myself, and our 3 dogs: Nala, a wonderful pit bull; Pookie, a sharpei, and
Blackie who is the son of Pookie. You can guess what color HE is!
We spent the better part of a day at Bass Pro Shops purchasing a cargo carrier (there will be NO tow vehicle) which will mount on the tow receptacle at the rear of the RV. (You can never have too much storage space on an RV!) Now we will seek out an actual storage box large enough to contain an insulated cooler and other important things. This box must be secure first from bears, and second, from MAN! So, some engineering and a good padlock are in order.
Next blog you will hear about how this turns out as well as some initial preparations with the RV itself.
